It’s been a long long time that I had taken time off for
myself without any family “Attachments” ! This summer, I decided to do so, to
charge up my spirit for the coming working days…
I, accompanied by my cousin’s daughter went to our uncle’s
place in Mysore, the city of palaces. Though we visited very less of the
historical buildings there, we thoroughly enjoyed the days we spent in the city.
Travelling through the calm city in the local buses with super
less traffic, sunny yet pleasant weather and sparsely populated city; we
visited the very famous Chamundi hills and The Zoo of Mysore, the main attraction
for tourists from all over the world.
The visit to the temple was a divine experience and I got to
see the more significant cultural atmosphere and the liveliness in the peoples’
heart. I did shop a few small cute
things to take home as a remembrance to this visit.
Next, the visit to The Zoo was an amazing one! Saw more than
160 species of animals and birds altogether including a 6 month old Baby
Anaconda, which was the show stopper.
The beautiful dancing white peacock, the playful tigers in the pool,
the multi-colored parakeets ,the busily feasting elephant family, the royal
walk by the lion and lioness in their area, the lazy chimps and the tall yet
graceful Giraffes were the ones which I liked the most. I noticed that people
had adopted many animals and birds to protect them and this gesture was an
interesting one to know. I felt a little bad seeing the animals and birds in cages but thinking on a broader perspective, I realized that this was the only way we could get to see such amazing nature's creation in close proximity and also to protect them from getting extinct. I wanted to take these memories back home to show to
my family and friends and the best thing I could do was just click until my
camera’s battery died down to stop.
After this wonderful trip to the Zoo, we headed to watch a
recently released English 3D movie in a newly constructed Multiplex and to my
surprise people were just countable in number on a weekend, unlike in
Bangalore, where in the sight is completely opposite, irrespective of the day
we visit a multiplex or a shopping mall.
Thoroughly enjoyed the movie and had a blast there, and I noticed that
the movie hall was fully packed too.
As I headed back home late in the calm night with the cool
breeze soothing my cheeks and hair, I started recollecting the fun and joyful
time I had over the last 3 days…a memorable and a special one ‘coz I enjoyed it
whole-heartedly!!!
Truly, this trip was a much-needed break from my usual
routine and a relaxing one too. All thanks to my little cousins who gave me a
gala time with their nonsense and nonstop talking and to the city itself for a
soothing experience!!!...:-)
